Day Four
The Roman Colosseum and Forum
&
Off to Volterra

What a magical day! After breakfast, we were packed and ready to go as we'd be heading out of town this afternoon.
Before we left Rome, we were lucky enough to get to meet the local guide, Marta, again, this time to takes us on a walking tour through the ancient heart of Rome, telling us vivid tales of the Colosseum and the birthplace of Rome: the Forum. Marta's storytelling took us back in time and I felt like I was there attending a gladiator expo.
We were extra lucky to gain access to the internal stage structure, a part of the amphitheater that not all tours groups get to see. Standing inside the heart of this ancient structure was an extra impressive end to our day in Rome.
After the tour we boarded our luxury bus and started the journey the to Tuscany, ending our day in the hill town of Volterra.
That night we had another group dinner, at La Carabaccia a local Ristorante run by three sisters. The meal was divine my favorite course being the The parppadelle with a wild boar, molto delizioso!
